Pakistan’s senior leader and Chairman of the Pakistan-France Business Forum, Senator Zahirul Islam Zahoor, has said that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s assumption of the Chief of Defence Staff post on 5 December, with the confidence, determination, and vision, that “Pakistan’s time for takeoff has arrived” is a reflection of the same thought process and vision as the recent analytical report by the British publication, Financial Times.
In an exclusive interview with Dawn, Senator Zahirul Islam Zahoor said that the Financial Times has explicitly indicated that Field Marshal Asim Munir has emerged as a effective, wise, and strategic leader in the changing global system, who has skillfully aligned Pakistan’s diplomatic and defense direction with the global demands with great wisdom. He said that the British publication has hailed Field Marshal Asim Munir as a multi-dimensional foreign policy expert, emphasizing that the changing global politics has introduced a new but complex era for middle powers, requiring exceptional diplomatic skills.
Senator Zahirul Islam Zahoor further said that the Financial Times has included Field Marshal Asim Munir among the most successful multi-dimensional diplomats, highlighting that he has established the most effective and balanced relations with Washington, Beijing, Riyadh, and Tehran simultaneously, setting an exemplary and replicable model for middle power diplomacy. He added that the Financial Times has praised Field Marshal Asim Munir for taking Pakistan’s diplomacy forward with great wisdom, pleasant speech, and effective diplomatic style, resulting in positive outcomes.
