A Pakistani woman, who was allegedly kidnapped from Pakistan and taken to Iran, has been rescued by Iranian police. The woman alleged that she was forcibly married to a Pakistani man in Iran two and a half years ago. She had appealed to the Governor of Sindh through a video message sent by her family, requesting his assistance in securing her release from her tormentor. The rescued woman, a resident of Lathifabad Hyderabad, is the sister of a man who had lodged an FIR with the police on September 18, 2023, after receiving a phone call from an unknown number claiming that his sister was married in Iran.
Governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, was informed about the woman’s rescue and coordinated with the Iranian Ambassador and the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to secure her release. He assured that the woman’s travel expenses would be borne by him. The family’s brother said that he received a phone call in August 2023 from an Iranian number claiming that his sister had got married, but there was no further contact with an unknown person on that number.
