Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati has expressed confidence that the era of injustice will soon come to an end and justice will prevail. Speaking to the media outside a Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court, Swati stated that the founder of PTI had advised him to engage in dialogue, but the new leadership has now taken charge.
Swati further added that they will observe how the new leadership performs, and hopefully, they will change their attitude for the better. He also revealed that he had not met the founder of PTI since their last meeting on April 2, 2025.
Meanwhile, Gunnahor Khan Essran, a member of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), accused PTI of misleading the public by focusing on issues like water and sewage management. Essran argued that the country is facing a governance crisis in all four provinces.
According to police officials, four people, including a bride and three grooms, were killed and several others injured in a clash that erupted during a wedding ceremony in Khairader, Peshawar. The victims had traveled from Khyber to attend the ceremony.
In a separate incident, a shootout occurred between police and dacoits in the Mian Colony area of Karachi. Police have arrested the main culprit, Muzaffar Hussain, in connection with the murder of four people who were found dead in a men’s hostel.
People’s Party leader Ali Musa Gilani alleged that the United States has occupied the world’s largest oil reserves and will now allow American oil companies to extract oil from Venezuela. Javed Butt, a PTI leader, was murdered by motorcyclists on Canal Road last year.
In a breakthrough in the Mian Colony killing case, the bodies of four victims, including a woman and her three children, were identified by the victims’ relatives at the Docks Police Station. The victims were residents of Khairader, Peshawar, and were reported missing after they left their home on New Year’s Night.
Commenting on the incident, Mohsin Naqvi said that those responsible for luring innocent people out of their homes will not be given any leniency.
