Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been stranded on the motorway for the second night, demanding access to his personal doctors. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Suhail Aftab, said in a media briefing that Khan would remain on the motorway until 3 am tonight and outside the Supreme Court from 10 am onwards.
Aftab was speaking to the media after a meeting with Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Salmam Akram Raja. He stated that the government was only asking for Khan’s personal doctors to be allowed to visit him, adding that their demands had been met with a negative response.
“We are fighting for justice within the constitution and we have the right to peaceful protests even if all gates are shut,” Aftab said. He further stated that the government would hold a meeting with the political committee to discuss the next course of action.
In a separate development, the Punjab government has shut down all roads leading to Balochistan, while the Saudi Foreign Ministry stated that they are in support of the Pakistani government and people in their fight against terrorism.
A massive fire broke out in Derah Ghazi Khan, with rescue and fire brigade teams working to extinguish the flames. In other news, the first-ever Agri Culture Food and Drug Authority has been established in Punjab province, while the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has announced a traffic plan for the “Jeene Do Karachi” march scheduled to take place on February 8.
Karachi’s residents are struggling to afford homes, with many forced to live in rented apartments or houses. Interior Minister, Senator Musa Ghazanfar Ali, accused India of sponsoring terrorism in Balochistan and vowed to defeat them once again.
Meanwhile, residents of Karachi have expressed their frustration with the city’s poor roads, asking the mayor for a solution to the problem. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Lohdaran expressed his concern over the number of people injured in the recent accident, stating that 29 people were injured.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyers have demanded a written record of Imran Khan’s medical examination from the Adiala Jail authorities. The medical team and the donors who helped Khan are recovering quickly after the operation.
In a different development, Interior Minister, Senator Musa Ghazanfar Ali, visited the Corps Headquarters in Quetta after the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan. The registration of kite sellers and door-to-door vendors has been extended until February 8.
In a joint statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry stated that they are in support of the Pakistani government and people in their fight against terrorism. US President Donald Trump said that they want to continue negotiations with Iran and achieve a successful outcome.
The Pakistani government has established the country’s first-ever Agri Culture Food and Drug Authority in the Punjab province. The Traffic Police announced a traffic plan for the “Jeene Do Karachi” march scheduled to take place on February 8.
