Pakistani cricketers’ ICC T20I rankings have seen significant changes following their strong performance in the recent three-match series against the West Indies. Several players have made impressive climbs, while others have slipped down the list.
Ups and Downs in the Batting Rankings
Middle-order batter Hassan Nawaz surged 24 spots to reach 30th place with 569 rating points, after a consistent run that saw him score 79 runs. Top-order batter Saim Ayub, who led the series with 130 runs, including two half-centuries, jumped 25 places to claim the 37th position. Fellow opener Sahibzada Farhan, with 91 runs in the series, made an even bigger leap, climbing 34 spots to 63rd place.
Captain Salman Ali Agha and seasoned batter Fakhar Zaman also saw improvements, moving up 15 and three places to 76th and 78th positions, respectively.
However, inactive players Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who haven’t played T20Is since 2024, both experienced a drop of three places, now sitting at 17th and 19th. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris, who struggled during the Caribbean tour, dropped 21 spots to 86th.
In the global rankings, India’s Abhishek Sharma retained the top spot among T20I batters, followed by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Tilak Varma in second and third place.
Changes in Bowling and All-Rounder Rankings
No Pakistani bowlers are currently featured in the top 20. Fast bowler Haris Rauf held his 26th position, while young pacer Abbas Afridi dropped three spots to 27th. Left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem made a stunning jump of 69 places to reach 34th. Shaheen Afridi slipped one position to 36th, while Mohammad Nawaz climbed 51 spots to 56th. Abrar Ahmed dropped nine spots to 60th, and T20I vice-captain Shadab Khan fell five places to 72nd.
New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy continues to lead the bowling rankings, with England’s Adil Rashid in second and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein moving up to third.
