Pakistani veteran actor Behroz Sabzwari sparked controversy by openly criticizing the judges of a popular TV show “Kya Drama Hai” during a recent Urdu conference in Karachi. Sabzwari, known for his iconic roles in timeless dramas such as “Khuda Ki Basti” and “Tanhaiyan,” expressed his concerns about certain actresses who criticize Pakistani dramas on a private channel. He stated that these actresses are tearing apart Pakistani dramas, which is unfair, and they lack understanding of the production issues in the industry. Some of them, he added, are not even good actors.
Sabzwari’s comments were echoed by actor Yasir Hussain, who also spoke candidly about the issue. He stated that some individuals are criticizing acting and filmmaking without understanding the fundamental principles of the art form. Hussain added that only those who are well-versed in the craft can criticize acting, and even they should do it in a constructive manner. He mentioned that Farooq Rind and Munawar Saeed are examples of individuals who can critique acting, but not women who are part of the industry themselves.
