Pakistani actress Meera, known as Syeda Irtiza Rubab, was banned from entering the UK for 10 years, according to documents obtained by Geo News. Her family attributes the initial ban to a misunderstanding during an English language interview, where Meera struggled to understand the immigration officer’s questions. After the ban expired, a subsequent visa application was rejected due to incorrect information provided by her travel agent. Meera’s mother has appealed to the UK High Commission in Pakistan for a visa, stating that Meera has family in the UK, including a sister who is a solicitor and her mother who lives there. She also mentioned Meera has film projects planned in the UK. The initial ban was reportedly caused by a language barrier, leading to confusion over terms like “transit” and “transaction.” Meera’s mother emphasized that Meera’s English has improved since then, and she is a Green Card holder who travels to the US regularly. She also highlighted Meera’s role as the family’s breadwinner and her desire to work on film projects in the UK. Meera has hired a new lawyer to reapply for a UK visa.
