Pakistan has decided to withdraw from the AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup qualifying rounds due to financial constraints. The Group B matches, which were to be held in Indonesia starting from January 15, 2025, included Pakistan. However, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) pulled out after failing to secure necessary funding. Pakistan was set to play against hosts Indonesia, India, Kyrgyzstan, and Hong Kong, but is now removed from the official draw. Earlier, in June 2024, the PFF had announced the participation of the Pakistan Women’s Futsal team in the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Asian Cup, marking the first-ever top futsal competition for the team. However, due to a lack of response from FIFA regarding funding, Pakistani players have lost the opportunity to play at this high level. According to sources, the PFF had requested financial support from FIFA but did not receive any response. The lack of funding has also raised concerns about Pakistan’s participation in the AFC Men’s Asian Cup qualifiers. If funding is not secured by January 20, the team may face difficulties in competing in the qualifiers set to begin in March next year.
