Pakistan has officially welcomed the ceasefire understanding reached between Iran and Israel, urging all involved parties to uphold the agreement and refrain from actions that could reignite tensions in the already volatile Middle East.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Foreign Office declared Pakistan “welcomes the announcement of the ceasefire understanding between Iran and Israel,” and called on the relevant parties to adhere to it.
The Foreign Office further underscored Pakistan’s support for renewed efforts aimed at promoting diplomacy and dialogue in the region, emphasizing that such endeavors are crucial for lasting peace.
“We also welcome and support the efforts aimed at reviving dialogue and diplomacy in the region,” the spokesperson stated.
Reiterating its longstanding commitment to peace, Pakistan stressed that the use of force is not a sustainable solution to regional disputes.
“Peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through strict adherence to the purposes and principles of the U.N. Charter and by refraining from the use of force,” the statement added.
Pakistan assured that it will continue to play a constructive role and support all initiatives that foster peace and stability in the region. “Pakistan will continue to support all efforts in this regard,” the Foreign Office concluded.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also commended the parties that played a pivotal role in facilitating the ceasefire, expressing hope that it would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.
“Pakistan firmly believes that all disputes must be resolved in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter and international law, including respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he posted on his official account on X.
