Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has said that the government must change its approach if it is serious about holding meaningful dialogue with the opposition. In an interview with Geo News at the Parliament House in Islamabad, Salman Akram Raja said that he had come to meet Maulana Mahmood Achakzai and would extend his best wishes to him.
The PTI leader further stated that the government has not shown any sense of gratitude by issuing a notification to the opposition leaders. He claimed that the speeches delivered by Maulana Mahmood Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas were historic and that the opposition leaders had presented a clear vision of the country’s future. They outlined the reasons behind their presence on the streets, the path towards progress, and the issues that need to be addressed, such as the deterioration of the judiciary and the manner in which the Parliament is being run.
Salman Akram Raja also mentioned that the government’s economic situation is not as bleak as it seems, but rather it is in a state of collapse. He stated that the country’s youth are struggling to find employment and that the government’s approach to addressing the issue is not satisfactory. He also pointed out that the government has been heavy-handed in dealing with the opposition, citing the example of the crackdown on PTI’s rally in Karachi, where thousands of people were on the streets and were not allowed to proceed to the Bagh-e-Jinnah.
In a similar vein, MQM’s provincial minister Naseer Shah said that the government’s actions speak louder than its words, and that the PPP has never bowed down to anyone. He also stated that the PPP has lost all hope of a positive response from the government.
Meanwhile, the government has established a special committee to investigate the Radio Pakistan incident. The PTI leader also expressed skepticism about the government’s willingness to engage in meaningful dialogue, saying that it must change its approach if it wants to move forward.
