Investors at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) faced a week of uncertainty, as the market struggled to find a clear direction, resulting in a mixed trend overall. This volatility concluded with the benchmark KSE-100 index closing in the red, shedding 502 points to settle at 163,304.
The market experienced significant fluctuations throughout the week, trading within a wide band of 5,372 points. This reflected a cautious investor sentiment. The index reached a weekly high of 168,414 points but also touched a low of 163,041 points.
In terms of trading activity, a total of 7.41 billion shares were traded, amounting to a value of 248 billion rupees. However, the week’s instability led to a substantial erosion of market value, with the total market capitalization decreasing by 153 billion rupees to stand at 18,814 billion rupees.
