In a strong response to what it termed as “unprovoked Indian aggression,” Pakistan on Saturday launched a series of Fateh-1 surface-to-surface missiles, targeting “key Indian military installations” across the Line of Control (LoC), the military’s media wing reported. The missile strikes were solemnly dedicated to the memory of Pakistani children who lost their lives during the latest wave of hostilities. According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the precision-guided missile system — indigenously developed by Pakistan — was deployed as part of a retaliatory measure following the deaths of several civilians, including school-going children, in what officials have described as “deliberate Indian targeting of non-combatants in border areas.” “Pakistan has neither forgotten nor will ever forget the martyrdom of its innocent children,” the ISPR stated. “The Fateh-1 response carries with it the prayers, pain, and resolve of an entire nation.”
While the exact location of the missile launches was not disclosed, military sources confirmed that the response was “calibrated yet firm,” aimed at “military infrastructure responsible for the cross-border provocation.” Footage released by the military displayed multiple launches of the Al-Fatah missile system from undisclosed locations. The ISPR further conveyed that the operation was executed with the utmost care to avoid civilian casualties on the Indian side, a contrast it drew to India’s “indiscriminate and reckless actions.”
