Pakistan is observing the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People today, reaffirming its unwavering support for Palestine’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
On this significant occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have issued strong condemnations of Israel’s ongoing aggression. Both leaders reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause and its call for immediate action from the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to enforce an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and ensure unhindered humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people.
In his message, President Zardari condemned Israel’s relentless assault on Gaza, stressing the need for global intervention to end the ongoing genocide of Palestinians. He called on the international community to act swiftly and decisively to stop the violence.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, praising their bravery in the face of continuous genocidal violence. He condemned Israel’s actions, which have resulted in the deaths of over 43,000 innocent Palestinians, including men, women, and children. Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to standing by the resilient Palestinian people in their struggle for justice.
Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch also voiced Pakistan’s resolute support for the Palestinian cause during the second meeting of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in Belgium. She called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and stressed the need for a comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue. Baloch emphasized the importance of a sovereign, independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. She also underscored the necessity of full Palestinian membership in the United Nations.
