Pakistan has accepted an invitation to join the “Board of Peace” to support peace talks between Israel and Palestine. The move aims to establish peace in Palestine and rebuild Gaza. Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized that the country has urged humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people and hopes to make the Gaza reconstruction process effective.
According to the spokesperson, Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role in ending the Palestinian people’s difficulties and hopes to make practical progress towards peace in Palestine through the Board of Peace. Pakistan’s participation in the “Board of Peace” has been met with resistance from the Israeli occupation forces that have been occupying Palestine for years.
Israeli Economy Minister Nir Barkat said in an interview with Indian media that any country supporting Hamas will not be welcome in Gaza. He further stated that he will not accept Qataris and Turks in Gaza as they have been supporting Hamas, but he has no objection to them being part of the “Board of Peace” led by Donald Trump.
Nir Barkat further stated that the presence of Pakistan in any interim force or reconstruction mission in Gaza is completely unacceptable. On the other hand, an Israeli diplomat in India, Reuven Azar, said that Israel is not satisfied with Pakistan’s participation in the “Board of Peace” and that the reason is Pakistan’s growing ties with Hamas. He further stated that efforts should be made that will be helpful in moving forward, but this is only possible after the elimination of Hamas.
A senior Israeli diplomat also expressed concern over Pakistan’s participation in the “Board of Peace”, stating that Israel does not consider Pakistan a reliable partner in peace and stability in Gaza.
