Pakistani national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has announced the resumption of flights from Lahore to London. According to a statement by PIA’s spokesperson, the first flight, PK 757, will depart from Lahore on 30 March. The flights will land at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 4. The spokesperson stated that the airline will gradually increase the frequency of flights from Lahore to London, which will be part of its international network. The airline will operate 4 weekly flights from Islamabad to London starting 29 March.
The spokesperson also mentioned that the resumption of flights from Lahore to London marks a significant milestone for the airline, which was forced to suspend operations due to the pandemic. The airline will operate a total of 7 flights a week to the UK, up from 10 flights a week before the pandemic.
In other news, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has constituted a transaction committee to oversee the privatization of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) and Sukkur Electric Supply Company (SEPCO). The committee will be responsible for ensuring that the privatization process is transparent and fair.
