Pakistan’s Chief of Defense Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has stated that the country is facing a wide range of challenging and continuous threats. According to a press release by the ISPR, the National Defense University (NDU) in Islamabad welcomed Field Marshal Asim Munir on a visit to the institution. On this occasion, Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed by the National Security and War Course’s civil and military panels on the national security challenges facing the country. During the briefing, Field Marshal Munir was informed about the requirements for addressing these challenges from a scientific and analytical perspective. Field Marshal Munir discussed the changing global, regional, and internal security environment. He emphasized that these challenges are present across traditional, non-traditional, intelligence, cyber, informational, military, economic, and other domains.
Field Marshal Munir further stated that the country is facing a wide range of comprehensive and continuous challenges, and addressing these challenges requires a holistic preparation involving all elements of national power. He stressed that the enemy elements are adopting indirect and subtle methods, including proxy wars to exploit internal weaknesses. The Chief of Defense Forces emphasized that the future leaders of the country should be aware of these challenges and receive training to counter them. Field Marshal Munir stressed that clear decision-making and mental resilience are essential characteristics for a successful role in the security environment.
Field Marshal Munir praised the role of the National Defense University in developing strategic thinkers and strengthening professional military education. He emphasized that the institution plays a central role in ensuring long-term national stability and that its participants must adhere to the values of honesty, discipline, and selfless service.
Field Marshal Munir appreciated the analysis and results of the panel. However, it is worth noting that a recent incident has caused concern. A rescue worker has reported that the incident occurred due to rapid movement, and the injured were immediately taken to the hospital. The international media and Western sources have also raised questions about India’s statement. Mashahid Hussain Syed, a spokesperson for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated that housing schemes are being implemented in Karachi and other cities for the flood-affected people.
Commissioner Karachi Hassan Akbar Naqvi has issued a notification banning dumpers and heavy traffic from entering the city. According to the police, the truck driver fled the scene after the accident.
