Pakistan is grappling with the challenges of implementing fire safety measures, with Association of Blood and Developers (ABD) Chairman Hassan Bakhsh stating that it would be impossible to take action within three days. In an interview with Geo News’ Shahzad Khanzada, Bakhsh emphasized that the list of 266 buildings is not solely comprised of Blood and Developers projects. Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) officials claim that immediate action is necessary for the benefit of Karachi.
Bakhsh further pointed out that many buildings are over 30 to 40 years old and did not have fire safety measures at that time. He stressed that consistent efforts should be made to improve fire safety measures, and that many new buildings have better arrangements in place. “Even if the government wants to take action within three days, it’s not possible,” Bakhsh said.
