News: Pakistan’s Federal Ministry of Industries and Production has strongly refuted reports claiming the government is considering a temporary ban on the export of mutton and beef.
These clarifications follow speculation that a ban on exporting meat, eggs, and chicken was proposed to help reduce prices in the local market. This was highlighted by a recent decision in Lahore aimed at providing cheaper meat to the public.
According to the ministry, no such proposal is under consideration at the federal level. A spokesperson clarified that if any such suggestion was made at a provincial level, it has not been communicated to the federal government.
The ministry emphasized that the government, under Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar, is actively working to increase exports, not restrict them. It was clearly stated that the federal government would not be in favor of imposing such a ban.
