The National Assembly on Tuesday presented a chargesheet against the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, accusing them of failing to provide relief to the people.
In a media briefing, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Atta Tarar, claimed that the provincial government had allocated 4 billion rupees for the people but it was still unclear how it was used. He further stated that the provincial government had failed to take any concrete actions to help the people.
Federal Minister for Interior, Tahir Chaudhry, also accused the provincial government of lying about the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stated that the government’s claims were completely false and that they had been trying to deceive the nation.
The minister also said that the provincial government had been given billions of rupees to fight terrorism but had failed to deliver. He also accused the provincial government of trying to shift the blame onto the armed forces.
In a related development, the Chairman of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, announced that the party would stage a sit-in outside the Sindh Assembly from February 14.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Suhail Anwar Khan, expressed his condolences for the victims of terrorism in Balochistan and said that he would take up the case of the province with the Prime Minister.
The Governor of Sindh, Imran Ismail, said that the tax collection in Karachi was underway, but only 5% of the collected taxes were being used to provide basic amenities to the people.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said that the provincial government should take responsibility for the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and apologize to the nation.
The Chairman of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Khalid Mahmood Siddiqui, said that the use of women and children by terrorists was unacceptable.
