The Baacha Khan Awami Nawaz Political Alliance convened an emergency meeting to discuss the Tera Ghazi violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during which they demanded that the situation be brought under control immediately. The alliance also announced the launch of the Baacha Khan Awami Nawaz Peace Initiative in Bajaur.
Speaking at the meeting, former Chairman of the Baacha Khan Awami Nawaz Political Alliance Haji Sherin Afridi stated that they had previously held two meetings with the Khawarij, after which they handed over the responsibility to the provincial government and local elders. The alliance demanded that the Khawarij cease their firing, shelling, and mortar attacks on homes, in addition to stopping their activities of kidnapping for ransom and making threatening phone calls, which are causing fear and anxiety among ordinary citizens.
The alliance also demanded that all promises and agreements made with the affected people be implemented in writing and in practice, and that the registration process of the affected people of Tera Ghazi be expedited without any political interference or corruption. They also urged the government to take action against those responsible.
The alliance also emphasized the need to provide protection to the people of Bajaur, particularly those who own homes or property in the area. They demanded that the government provide ID cards to the residents of the area and include all affected people in the relief package.
Furthermore, the alliance stated that the situation in the Upper Bajaur and Bajaur Plain Area is alarming, and that the situation be brought under control on an emergency basis. They also announced that the Baacha Khan Awami Nawaz Peace Initiative will be launched in Bajaur starting today.
The alliance also demanded that the provincial government take responsibility for ensuring the safety of the people of Bajaur, particularly in light of the kidnapping for ransom and threatening phone calls. They vowed to continue their struggle for the rights of the affected people of Tera Ghazi on all forums.
Sources reported that the meeting was convened at the request of the representatives of the tribal elders and local leaders of Tera Ghazi. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, announced that he will lead a sit-in outside the Sindh Assembly starting from February 14.
Sindh Chief Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal stated that he condemns the terrorist incidents in Balochistan, and that he has been invited to meet with the Prime Minister. Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori stated that tax collection is underway in Karachi, and that not even 5% of the collected tax is being utilized in the city.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar stated that the terrorist attack in Balochistan is a cowardly act by Fitoor-e-Hind, and that it is a serious setback for India. PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh demanded that the party leaders and workers be spared from raids on their homes across Sindh.
PML-N leader Palwasha Khan stated that the terrorist attack in Balochistan is a pre-planned conspiracy by India, and that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is behind the plot. MQM-Pakistan Chairman Dr. Khalid Mehmood stated that the government is responsible for the flooding of Karachi, and that the fire tenders are stationed in Nawabshah and Larkana.
Federal Minister for Interior Senator Tariq Bashir Cheema stated that the Indian proxy forces are being trained on the other side of the border, and that they are carrying out operations. The Lahore Police held a meeting to discuss the arrangements for the upcoming Basant festivities.
