The wife of Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik, Mushaal Malik, has expressed her deep concern ahead of a critical hearing in her husband’s death sentence case. In a press conference held in Muzaffarabad, Mushaal Malik stated that the court hearing scheduled for tomorrow is extremely perilous and anything can happen.
Yasin Malik, a Kashmiri freedom fighter, was convicted of various charges, including terrorism-related offenses. Mushaal Malik emphasized that her husband has been a brave warrior and a freedom fighter, who had chosen the path of peace after laying down arms. However, she alleged that the Indian government is resorting to torture in Tihar Jail, denying Malik access to a lawyer, and attempting to convert his life imprisonment into a death sentence.
Mushaal Malik further stated that her husband is not being presented in courts, and one-sided verdicts are being passed against him. She called upon the international community, particularly the Kashmiri diaspora, to take immediate action and save Yasin Malik’s life. If anything happens to her husband, it would be a death knell for India, she warned.
