HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Ozone pollution could be a problem in some Houston neighborhoods the next few days, and an Ozone Pollution Watch is in effect for Wednesday.
Temperatures Wednesday morning will again start off warmer than normal with morning lows in the low-to-mid 70s. High temperatures will again climb into the low 90s, and those hot temperatures will increases ozone production to unhealthy levels in spots. Ozone is a lung irritant that can trigger asthma attacks in sensitive individuals.
The sky will remain mostly sunny with no chance for rain.
Which day will be the hottest this week?
Thursday looks to bring our hottest weather, mainly because a batch of drier air will blow in with more sunshine. Dry air heats up quicker than humid air, and we predict our high to hit a record-breaking 95-degrees. The current record for Thursday is 92-degrees set in 1967.
When we could get more rain?
Our next chance of rain comes this weekend as a weak front pushes towards Southeast Texas. Deeper moisture coming in from Louisiana will get stirred up by this front and bring us a 20% hope for a shower or thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening.
What else can we expect for the weekend?
To put it simply, more near record heat. Lows will drop into the mid 70s while highs hold steady in the low 90s.
