David Berry, widely recognized for his role as Lord John Grey in Outlander, is set to make a splash on the big screen in the upcoming R-rated wedding comedy, ‘Something Blue’.
Film Details and Gary Sinyor’s Vision
This movie will mark the first U.S.-set film by British writer and director Gary Sinyor since The Bachelor, which was released in 1999 and starred Renée Zellweger.
Discussions are currently underway with financiers for this autobiographical project, which chronicles the unique tale of a man getting married for the second time and a woman experiencing marriage for the first time. Expressing his thoughts on Berry’s casting, Sinyor remarked, “David has a laidback Aussie charm which conflicts superbly with the rude chaos that surrounds him in the project. Now we just have to find his equally charming bride.”
The 63-year-old English film director added, “Across the cast, we’re looking at funny, funny people on social media as well as established talent. Something Blue should help a few actors with star potential cross over from the online world into the mainstream cinema.”
Sinyor also shared his enthusiasm for returning to U.S. filmmaking: “It’s been too long since I’ve been filming in the U.S. Some say Hollywood has given up on comedy, but comedy should never give up on Hollywood, despite better incentives being offered elsewhere. I like the idea of shooting on location and supporting the U.S. industry which used to be known for making the laugh-out-loud comedy.”
