Actor Orlando Bloom has confessed that he was not a “joy to be around” while filming his movie, ‘The Cut’. In a recent interview with Yahoo, he revealed that he was constantly grumpy due to the extreme physical and mental strain of preparing for his character.
Bloom explained that his demanding boxing training schedule left him feeling physically deprived. “I didn’t feel very good — angry and hungry,” he admitted.
He went on to describe the immense toll it took on him: “We are built for sleep, food, and water. When you take all three of those away — because you don’t really sleep when you’re that hungry… I was sleeping a few hours a night. I literally had no mental or physical capacity. I was lying on the floor between takes and then getting up to work.”
Bloom also shared that restricting his water intake to achieve his lowest weight for the final scenes was especially difficult. This restriction led to “obsessive thoughts of food” and even “dreaming of what I could eat when finally off a diet of tuna and cucumber.”
