According to recent buzz, OnePlus might be gearing up to launch the Nord CE 5, which would be the next in line after their mid-range Nord CE 4 smartphone. While the company hasn’t officially said anything yet, the specs that are starting to surface suggest they’re really focusing on making the battery life impressive for this upcoming phone.
One rumour that’s going around says the OnePlus Nord CE 5 will pack a massive 7,100mAh battery. That’s a pretty significant jump of about 29 percent compared to the 5,500mAh battery in the current Nord CE 4. If this turns out to be true, the Nord CE 5 could really stand out in its market as a leader in how long the battery lasts.
When it comes to what’s powering the Nord CE 5, it’s expected to be either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC or MediaTek’s Dimensity 8400 chipset. The phone will also reportedly stick with UFS 3.1 storage technology, which is the same as what its predecessor offered.
Just to give you a bit of background, the Nord CE 4 uses a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor along with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and can have up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. OnePlus also added to the Nord CE family in June 2024 with the Nord CE 4 Lite 5G, which has a Snapdragon 695 SoC and a 5,500mAh battery.
We don’t have any official launch dates yet, but people in the industry are expecting more details about the OnePlus Nord CE 5 to start popping up in the next few weeks as we get closer to the rumoured May release timeframe.
