BEIJING/GLOBAL TECH
Just weeks before its anticipated global debut, the upcoming OnePlus 15 flagship has been exposed in a major leak, revealing its full technical specifications and new lifestyle photos. The device, rumoured to arrive later this month, is poised to deliver significant generational leaps in display, battery endurance, and processing power.
According to a leak that originated on the Chinese social media site Weibo, the OnePlus 15 will feature a 6.78-inch OLED display offering an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. This marks a notable upgrade over its predecessor’s 120Hz panel.
Performance will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a component OnePlus has already confirmed, positioning the device as one of the most powerful Android flagships launching this year.
The battery unit receives a substantial boost: a 7,300mAh cell supporting lightning-fast 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. This promises dramatically faster recharging times and extended battery life compared to the OnePlus 13’s 6,000mAh unit and 100W charging.
Triple 50MP Camera and Flagship Durability
The OnePlus 15 is reportedly set to maintain a powerful triple-lens 50MP+50MP+50MP rear camera setup. While the megapixel count matches the OnePlus 13, the new handset is expected to integrate improved image sensors to ensure superior quality and detail in photographs.
Crucially for durability, the new model is said to come with IP69 certification, indicating top-tier resistance against both dust and water ingress—a feature that would place it among the most rugged premium smartphones on the market.
Leaked photos showcased the OnePlus 15 in a Sand Storm colour option, consistent with recent teasers shared on official OnePlus social media pages. The design emphasizes the brand’s signature sleek, premium aesthetic, featuring curved edges and a refined finish, suggesting a focus on balancing both style and substance.
With these detailed leaks surfacing, the official OnePlus 15 launch appears imminent, possibly within October 2025. Should these specifications prove accurate, the OnePlus 15 is set to be one of the year’s most performance- and energy-efficient smartphones, further solidifying the brand’s reputation for offering premium Android experiences at competitive price points.
