An investigation is currently underway following a police pursuit that culminated in a crash in north Houston on Thursday night.
According to deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the incident originated at Mount Houston and US-59, where the driver allegedly participated in a parking lot takeover, engaging in what authorities described as reckless and life-threatening behavior.
When deputies attempted to intervene and stop the suspect, they encountered resistance, prompting a pursuit.
Video footage captured the aftermath of the crash, with the vehicle overturned on Hardy Toll Road and Aldine Mail Route.
The suspect was transported to the hospital to assess possible injuries, while the passenger was released without harm.
A sergeant present at the scene remarked that similar incidents occur on a weekly basis.
At present, authorities anticipate charging the suspect with evading in a motor vehicle, although additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
