Pakistan’s emerging squash talent, Noor Zaman, has made a victorious start at the Toronto Open in Canada, overcoming a tough challenge from his Egyptian rival in the first round.
Zaman faced Abdelrahman Nassr of Egypt in a compelling match. Despite dropping the second set 5-11, the Pakistani player showed strong resilience and bounced back decisively. He secured the victory with a final scoreline of 11-6, 5-11, 11-8, and 11-4, winning the match three sets to one.
This victory ensures Noor Zaman’s progression into the pre-quarterfinal stage of the tournament.
Meanwhile, fellow Pakistani player Ashab Irfan also advanced to the next round after receiving a ‘bye’ in his opening match. The Toronto Open is part of the PSA World Tour and features a total prize fund of $41,250
