Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi addressed the challenges and his relationship with the federal government during a public rally in Karak, stating he has always responded “morally” to “false accusations” made by federal ministers.
Reflecting on his political journey, Afridi told the crowd, “You know that from the day the PTI founder nominated my name for the Chief Ministership, those people who do not want to give youth a chance started making noise.”
He also shared details of a conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “I was visiting Adiala Jail when the Prime Minister called to congratulate me on my election,” Afridi said. “I asked him to arrange a meeting for me with my leader.”
The Chief Minister added that when the Prime Minister later invited him for a meeting, he replied that he would “ask his leader first.”
In a defiant tone, Afridi asserted, “Today, the government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa belongs to the common people. They will still try to defame me, but no one can scare me.”
Responding to critics who claim “he is young and will not deliver,” the Chief Minister posed a question: “What have you people delivered in all these years? To deliver, one needs intention and effort, and we will show you how it’s done.”
He concluded by outlining his vision for the province, pledging to improve counter-terrorism capabilities, ensure good governance, and invest in the development of the merged districts.
