Nicolas Cage recently discussed the memorable snakeskin jacket from the 1990 film Wild at Heart, an item that solidified his unique persona.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Nicolas Cage was questioned about whether he still owned the distinctive snakeskin jacket.
For those who may not know, Nicolas famously wore this jacket while portraying Sailor Ripley in David Lynch’s 1990 movie, Wild at Heart.
Responding to the inquiry, Nicolas recounted, “I discovered the snakeskin jacket at a secondhand shop named Aaardvark’s on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.”
Reflecting on the jacket’s sentimental value, he admitted, “It reminded me of the jacket Marlon Brando wears in The Fugitive Kind – and I knew that at some point, I would feature it in a film.”
Regarding the jacket’s ultimate whereabouts, the actor revealed that it now belongs to his co-star, Laura Dern, who played Lula Pace Fortune in the movie.
He concluded, “I ended up gifting it to Laura Dern because she is such a remarkable actress, and I thoroughly enjoyed our collaboration on that David Lynch film. Therefore, I wanted her to have it.”
