Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, has come under fire for a controversial remark made during a TikTok Live session with the rapper on Friday.
While Minaj encouraged viewers to “Don’t you let anybody or anything steal your mother f—king joy,” Petty responded with a smile, saying, “That’s right, especially little f–s or f–k boys.”
The comment sparked a wave of criticism on social media, with some accusing him of insulting Minaj’s predominantly gay male fanbase. One user on X wrote that Petty had “just insulted her entire male fanbase,” while another remarked, “it’s giving the popular girl who says she’s for the gays but let her boyfriend say slurs while she laughs.”
Fans also noted that this was not the first time Petty had made such remarks without Minaj intervening. “This is the second time he has said this around her and she didn’t correct him,” one disappointed user wrote.
In addition to the backlash over the comment, Petty’s past legal troubles have resurfaced. In September 2023, he was sentenced to 120 days of home detention for probation violations, which included threatening Offset on social media. Petty’s probation stemmed from a prior conviction for failing to register as a sex offender after moving to California with Minaj. His original sentence included three years of probation, one year of home detention, and a $55,000 fine.
