A devastating car explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in India’s capital, New Delhi, has tragically claimed the lives of at least ten people and injured twenty-four. However, the tragedy has been compounded by a significant and concerning discrepancy between the official narrative being circulated and the testimony of a key eyewitness, casting a shadow of doubt over the investigation’s transparency.
While the Indian government and certain media outlets push a specific version of events, Dharmendra, an eyewitness to the blast, has come forward with a starkly different account. Dharmendra claimed that four charred bodies were found inside the vehicle, with two more people killed outside and one injured. These figures deviate from the initial details released by various official sources.
The discrepancies extend critically to the identification of the vehicle and its owner. According to the eyewitness, the car involved was a white Maruti, and its license plate clearly showed the owner’s details as Mohammad Nadeem, from Haryana. Yet, Dharmendra alleges that the Home Minister Amit Shah and a significant portion of the “Godi Media” (favorable to the government) are deliberately misidentifying the vehicle as a Hyundai.
Furthermore, the identity of the owner is reportedly being manipulated. Dharmendra asserts that the owner was named Nadeem, but he notes that government-aligned social media accounts (referred to as RAW trolls) are propagating the name Salman, while certain media houses are circulating the name Tariq.
These conflicting reports raise serious questions about the integrity of the investigation. Are the authorities concealing facts, or are initial statements being strategically altered to serve a particular political agenda? Following the loss of multiple lives, it is crucial for a free and transparent investigation to be conducted. The victims and their families deserve clear and unadulterated facts, rather than a narrative shrouded in suspicion and contradictory claims.
