Anthony Mackie has taken on the mantle of the new Captain America, and with the Avengers poised to join forces with the X-Men in “Doomsday,” he’s already got his eye on a few favorite mutants.
During a recent interview with ScreenRant, the actor revealed his dream team-up scenario in response to a question from the host.
“Look, I am a big Cyclops fan. He’s my number one X-Men guy. I’ve even got a Cyclops action figure on my keychain that’s been with me since high school,” the actor confessed.
The 46-year-old further emphasized his choice, explaining, “When I was in high school, the X-Men cartoon was huge, and this was way before the movies even came out. I’ve always been a massive Cyclops fan, and I’m really, really excited – fingers crossed – for them to be part of this whole thing and join the universe.”
But Cyclops isn’t the only mutant that has Anthony excited. “[I’m really looking forward] to hanging out with Professor X and Beast and all those guys. But if I had to pick an absolute favorite to hang with? It’s Nightcrawler, hands down.”
He concluded with an enthusiastic vision: “Me and Nightcrawler just chilling in the French Quarter during Mardi Gras for a solid two weeks – that’s exactly what I’d do.”
