ISLAMABAD— The government of Pakistan has released detailed figures on expenditures made on Federal Development Projects during the first four months (July to October) of the current fiscal year. A total of PKR 75.96 billion was spent during this period, reflecting the initial momentum in executing the nation’s development goals.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, approval was granted for the release of PKR 330.43 billion in Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) funds during these first four months. PSDP is the core mechanism for government-backed development spending.
The released data segments the expenditures across key sectors:
- PKR 53.93 billion was utilized for development projects under various Ministries and Divisions.
- A substantial PKR 20.17 billion was spent on projects managed by the National Highway Authority (NHA), focusing on critical infrastructure development.
- For the nation’s energy sector, including schemes under the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), the Power Division’s electricity projects received an expenditure of PKR 1.86 billion.
The Ministry of Planning noted that the total allocated budget for PSDP for the entire fiscal year 2025-26 stands at PKR 1,000 billion. The expenditure and fund releases in the initial quarter will be closely monitored to gauge the effectiveness and pace of project implementation throughout the remainder of the financial year.
