HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Hot and mostly dry weather takes over for the first half of the work week.
Tuesday will start off in the mid to upper 70s and highs should top out in the upper 90s. Heat index values reach to between 105 and 107 which is just below heat advisory criteria. Mostly dry conditions are expected as a ridge strengthens its hold over us.
Is any more rain on the way this week?
Late in the week a front will push down the Plains toward SE Texas to bring rain chances back up again. Thursday and Friday will be the wettest days.
Is there anything to watch in the Atlantic?
The Atlantic is quiet for now. A tropical wave currently located over the southern Caribbean Sea is expected to move across Central America during the next few days and emerge over the Bay of Campeche, where an area of low pressure could form on Friday. Formation odds are low but some gradual development of this system is possible while it moves northwest over the Gulf of Mexico through the weekend.
