HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Rain chances on Friday and into the weekend will be on the low side but not zero.
A hot and steamy weekend ahead.
Are there any other chances for rain this week?
Yes, but don’t get your hopes up too much. The weak front will drop the moisture levels enough Friday to only support a 20% chance for rain. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible again Saturday before a heat ridge squashes the rain chance for most of next week.
How does the weather look for the weekend?
Saturday will bring a 20% chance for isolated downpours as the Gulf moisture remains fairly deep. Temperatures will climb into the low 90s during the afternoon. On Sunday the deeper moisture will push off to our east, dropping the rain chance below 20%. That means the temperature will also heat up closer to the mid 90s during the afternoon.
Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
We are keeping an eye on the remnants of Agatha near the Yucatan peninsula. Its moisture is moving toward Florida and could develop into a tropical depression or storm before it moves over the Sunshine State Friday and Saturday. All of its rain will stay away from Texas, but it could bring widespread tropical rains to South Florida and the Bahamas. You can learn more about it in our daily tropical update.
