According to new findings by a special team from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), mobile applications, in addition to websites, were being used in the illegal trade of stolen data.
During its ongoing investigation, the NCCIA team discovered that various apps had also been employed to sell data. Sources indicate that the team has begun analyzing both the websites and mobile applications involved in this activity. The scope of the inquiry includes determining whether the data was stolen before or after 2023.
Authorities have decided to arrest individuals involved in selling data through these platforms. The websites and apps identified in the trade will be permanently shut down. Legal proceedings under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) will be initiated against those found responsible.
