Salman Mirza’s four-wicket haul and Umar Siddiq’s unbeaten 64 off 46 balls powered Lahore Region Blues to victory over Peshawar Regions in the National T20 Cup final at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on Thursday.
Peshawar Regions struggled after opting to bat first, with only captain Iftikhar Ahmed (34) and Mohammad Zulkifal (32) offering some resistance.
For Lahore Blues, Salman Mirza (4-21) led the bowling attack, supported by Mohammad Irfan (2-20) and a wicket each from Qasim Akram, Nisar Ahmad, and Mohammad Rizwan.
Chasing a modest target, Lahore Blues lost Imran Butt early, but Umar Siddiq’s masterful innings ensured a comfortable victory with four overs to spare. Junaid Ali provided solid support with an unbeaten 30.
Peshawar’s bowlers failed to make an impact, with only Usman Tariq (1-20) taking a wicket.
Following the National T20 Cup, the tenth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is scheduled to begin on April 11.
