Meghan Markle’s team has been asked to issue an apology to customers following a significant marketing error.
The Duchess of Sussex, who launched her lifestyle products for sale last week, experienced a rapid sell-out within minutes, leading to a shortage of items that customers had already placed orders for.
In a move to address the issue, Meghan’s team sent out an email on behalf of the company, offering an apology.
“The excitement generated a level of traffic on the site that even we couldn’t have foreseen (with everything selling out within an hour),” the email stated.
“The Limited-Edition Honey that you purchased was, unfortunately, already sold out due to the speed of orders overwhelming the site’s backend.”
“We are currently working on restocking our inventory and would be happy to send you an item of your choice as a token of our gratitude for your understanding,” the message further conveyed.
The email also included a personal note from Meghan Markle.
“Dear friend, My goodness, what a whirlwind this week has been! Thank you so much for the support. It truly means the world to me,” she wrote, according to screenshots shared online by disappointed customers.
“I was so sorry to hear about what happened with your order, and that due to overselling we are unable to get you the Limited-Edition Honey. Please know that the team worked incredibly hard across all departments, and felt just as disappointed when we learned what had occurred,” the 43-year-old Suits alum added.
