The Duchess of Sussex, who undertook a Royal tour to Australia in 2018, was reportedly surprised and displeased that she did not receive monetary compensation for her public appearances and walkabouts.
Royal expert Valentine Low explained: “During the South Pacific tour, Harry and Meghan were a tremendous success.”
“Huge crowds were turning out to see them, and Meghan’s refreshingly informal approach to royal engagements was proving very popular with the Australian public.”
Mr. Low further noted: “However, behind the scenes, the situation was different. While she enjoyed the attention, Meghan apparently did not grasp the purpose of the numerous walkabouts and shaking hands with countless strangers.”
Meghan reportedly commented, “I can’t believe I’m not being paid for this,” before asking her team, “What are they all doing here? It’s ridiculous.”
