Meghan Markle, who married Prince Harry in 2018, is facing criticism for complaints she made prior to her 2017 Vanity Fair interview.
The Duchess of Sussex reportedly asked former editor Graydon Carter to avoid making her then-boyfriend, Prince Harry, the primary focus of the cover story.
Now, former royal photographer Arthur Edwards argues that Meghan should have been grateful for the spotlight she received.
Speaking to The Sun, Edwards stated: “She had nothing to complain about.
“She received excellent publicity, and she was relatively unknown.
“I had never heard of her when I first learned of her connection to Harry. No one I knew had heard of her.
“No one in my family had heard of her. She was completely unknown.”
He added: “I believe she was fortunate to receive that publicity. After all, that’s what she consistently sought—publicity.
“She aimed to emphasize her accomplishments as an actress,” Edwards concluded.
