Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar on Tuesday rallied behind opener Risabh Pant despite his shortcomings against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Taking to social media, the renowned commentator said, “Pant should be criticized only for his failures, rather than how he fails.”
Manjrekar stated, “He averages 42 in Tests with at least 3 great innings, the best by any Indian player!”
“In 42 Tests, he has 6 hundreds and seven nineties. He is a great player, not scoring enough runs, and that’s the crux of it,” he maintained.
