In Houston, Texas, has obtained additional details about the victim involved in one of the city’s most horrific murders caught on camera.
Family and friends have revealed that the victim, 64-year-old Steve Anderson, had recently retired after dedicating approximately 20 years of his career to serving as a manager at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Colleagues were deeply saddened to learn of his tragic demise captured on video.
Despite the disturbing nature of the attack, authorities informed ABC13 that detectives have yet to establish a connection between Anderson and the suspect. Nevertheless, the investigation remains ongoing.
The incident occurred on May 3 while Anderson was walking to retrieve his mail on Woodridge Square Drive. As captured on video footage, he reacted to the sound of a screeching car before being struck by the vehicle, which reversed and hit him again, propelling him further down the road.
Moments later, the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Karon Fisher, returned to the scene. Although court documents identify Fisher as male, police have stated that Fisher identifies as female.
In a shocking display witnessed by bystanders in broad daylight, Fisher casually approaches Anderson’s body, flips him over, kisses him, and proceeds to stab him nine times, according to official records. Afterward, Fisher jumps over the victim’s body before exiting the camera’s frame.
Currently, Fisher remains in custody on a $2 million bond, a notably high amount compared to other murder cases in Harris County.
Anderson, affectionately known as “Pops,” is survived by his daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. He was beloved for his passion for the Chicago Cubs.
