HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — The death of a man who attempted to seek help while driving after being shot in northwest Harris County is under investigation by authorities.
Deputies responded to a Chevron gas station parking lot at 10475 Veterans Memorial Drive around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday following a 911 call from a family member of the victim.
According to the family member, the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and required medical attention.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered the victim seated in the driver’s seat of a black car. The victim had previously notified his family about being shot.
EMS transported him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators conducted interviews with witnesses, reviewed security footage, and collected evidence at the scene to determine the circumstances of the shooting.
At present, authorities have not identified a suspect or determined the location where the shooting took place.
