A man has been taken into custody from Jennifer Aniston’s Bel-Air property after reportedly driving his vehicle through the gates of the actress’s residence on Monday.
According to TMZ, the individual, believed to be in his 70s, crashed through the entrance gates to Aniston’s Los Angeles home shortly after noon.
The Friends star was reportedly present at home at the time of the incident.
The alleged intruder was apprehended by Aniston’s security personnel, who reportedly held him at gunpoint until the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) arrived at the scene.
Reports indicate that Aniston’s security team swiftly responded to the crash, removing the driver from the vehicle and detaining him.
Police have now arrested the man, but the LAPD informed ABC7 that the incident might have been accidental.
Furthermore, the publication stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and the man’s potential motives.
TMZ also reported that the driver complained of pain following the crash and was examined by ambulance staff.
It is important to note that this is not the first time police have been involved in a matter concerning Jennifer’s safety. In September of last year, authorities responded to a suspected “swatting” call that falsely claimed the actress was at immediate risk of suicide.
