Abbottabad, Pakistan:
A devastating incident of gun violence has rocked the Havelian area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Abbottabad district, where a man allegedly shot dead four members of his immediate family on Wednesday, according to local police.
The victims include the suspect’s brother, his sister-in-law, and their two young daughters. The alleged mass shooting took place in the Bandi Attai area.
Abbottabad Police Spokesperson Azam Mir Afzal confirmed the incident, stating that a police team was immediately dispatched to the site. “The suspect allegedly killed his brother along with his family members, but the motive behind the murders could not be immediately ascertained,” the spokesperson told Dawn.com.
The suspect managed to flee the scene following the quadruple homicide. Police have initiated the process of registering a First Information Report (FIR) at the Havelian police station and have launched a search operation to apprehend the alleged killer.
The bodies of the four victims have been transferred to Havelian hospital for post-mortem examinations. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, underscoring the severity of ongoing domestic violence issues in the region. Authorities have pledged to intensify efforts to bring the perpetrator to justice swiftly.
