Malala Yousafzai was filled with nostalgia as she attended her first real concert at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner shared the highlights of her memorable night on Instagram, which she enjoyed alongside her husband, Asser Malik, and their friends.
In the photos, Malala was all smiles as she posed with her husband and friends, proudly showing off her friendship bracelets. She looked genuinely joyful as she watched her “favourite” pop star perform live.
The carousel post was accompanied by a heartfelt caption in which Malala reflected on her past and how becoming a Swiftie holds a special significance for her.
“Having lived through a time where music and art were banned, music felt like a gift,” she wrote. “Moniba and I found the highest rock we could, climbed on top of it, and announced to all of our classmates and teachers that we were going to perform our new favourite song called LOVE STORY.”
Malala reminisced about singing with “all of our heart,” cherishing the joy and “feeling every second” as she began her journey as a Swiftie.
“It feels magical that my first-ever proper concert would be to see @TaylorSwift,” she added.
In her note, she also touched on the challenges she faced in her hometown of Swat and how “music made my friends and me feel confident and free.”
Malala concluded with a hopeful message, “And one day I hope we will live in a world where every girl will be able to enjoy music and live out her wildest dreams.”
