Pakistani security forces have successfully averted a major terrorist plot in North Waziristan, preventing a potential disaster in the region through a timely intelligence-based operation (IBO).
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces received credible intelligence that terrorists belonging to an extremist group (termed “Khawarij”) were preparing a vehicle for a large-scale suicide attack.
Acting on this intelligence, the forces launched an effective operation targeting the terrorist hideout.
The ISPR confirmed that the operation resulted in the destruction of the vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) that was being prepared for the attack. During the operation, three terrorists were also killed. The military’s statement referred to the neutralized militants as “Indian-sponsored terrorists.” This successful operation neutralized an imminent threat, saving the area from a potentially devastating incident.
