Lahore, Pakistan – In a significant move offering substantial relief to domestic consumers ahead of the harsh winter season, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced a decision to ensure uninterrupted gas supply from 5:00 AM until 10:00 PM. This reversal comes after the company withdrew its previously issued schedule, which had signaled intermittent supply during the winter months.
Sui Northern officials confirmed that there is an “ample quantity of gas available in the system,” which has enabled the company to practically eliminate gas load shedding for domestic users during winter. This measure is aimed at providing the necessary energy for cooking and heating during the colder weather.
The company’s Senior General Manager (GM) Sales elaborated on the decision: “We have withdrawn the previous gas supply schedule for the convenience of our customers. The management has decided that domestic consumers are our top priority; therefore, they will be provided continuous gas from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM.”
The previously released schedule had planned for gas supply to be intermittent, with breaks during three specific time slots from December through February. However, this new decision seeks to mitigate winter stress in households, especially impacting women and children.
The GM Sales also appealed to consumers to use the gas responsibly, requesting them to “only use the gas as needed and avoid wastage” to ensure all consumers benefit equally from this continuous supply.
