Departure fuels political speculation amid ongoing national activities; trip’s purpose remains undisclosed
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), a major religious political party in Pakistan, has departed the country for an overseas visit. His departure is deemed significant given the heightened pace of political activity currently underway nationally.
Sources at Karachi Airport confirmed that Maulana Fazlur Rehman boarded a foreign airline flight destined for Dubai today (yesterday).
According to sources, the JUI-F chief is not travelling alone. His son, Asad Mahmood, who is also a key political figure, accompanied his father on the flight to the United Arab Emirates.
The sudden departure of the senior political leader has triggered immediate speculation regarding the purpose of his visit. It remains unclear whether the trip is entirely private, or if it involves crucial political or diplomatic engagements. The JUI-F has not yet issued an official statement detailing the reason for the travel or the expected duration of their stay abroad.
